Corporate Identity / Company Branding
What is Corporate Identity?
Corporate Identity is the physical manifestation of a brand. This includes all of the physical characteristics that are associated with a corporation, esp. a logo, building, colors, etc. that builds the "persona" and personality for your company's branding objectives. While some consider advertising, public relations, and corporate communication forms of corporate identity, for our purpose we are solely referring to the corporate design aspect.
There are a certain set of guidelines that govern how the identity is defined and applied using approved color palettes, typefaces, page layouts, and other methods of maintaining visual continuity and brand recognition across all physical manifestations of the brand.
Is Corporate Identity important?
Yes, because Corporate Identity plays a significant role in the way an organization presents itself to both internal and external stakeholders. Generally, a corporate visual identity expresses the values and ambitions of an organization, its business, and its characteristics. Corporate Identity has 3 functions that are aimed at outside consumers and businesses for the purposes of building a solid company brand to build an effective advertising campaign off of. Learn the 3 Reasons Corporate Identity is Important.
- Visibility and "Recognizability." For virtually all profit and non-profit organizations, it is of vital importance that people know that the organization exists, and to be able to remember it. It is crucial to build a well-designed Corporate Identity as the foundation first—before proceeding with advertising options.
- Image and Reputation. A Corporate Identity symbolizes an organization to outside consumers and businesses, and, thus, contributes to its image and reputation. Van den Bosch, De Jong and Elving (2005) explored possible relationships between corporate visual identity and reputation, and concluded that corporate visual identity plays a supportive role in corporate reputations.
- Visual Coherence of Company Structure. A Corporate Identity expresses the structure of an organization to consumers and businesses, visualizing its coherence as well as the relationships between divisions or units. This is best described as a Corporate Visual Identity Structure and consists of three concepts: 1) monolithic brands for companies which have a single brand, 2) a branded identity in which different brands are developed for parts of the organization or for different product lines, and 3) an endorsed identity with different brands which are (visually) connected to each other.

Logo Design

Client: Effective Advertising Solutions LLC
Industry: Design Firm/Advertising Agency
Project: Logo Design
Description: Our goal was to design a logo that would look professionally clean, slightly elegant, while having yet a bold, eye-catching, and memorable brand. Our intention was to draw some of the attention away from our company name and bring focus to our initials "EAS". In order to accomplish this we used a uniquely bold orange with a white contrast that combines to create an arrow with a swoosh effect to symbolize upward growth and progress.
Your logo is your brand's foundation. In today's highly competitive market having a logo is no longer a luxury—it's a necessity. Your logo is one of the most important and critical components of your branding. Your corporate identity and all of your branding efforts not only start with your logo—they are dictated by it. Everything from your sales materials, business cards, websites, and advertising is influenced by your logo, for better or worse. A professional-looking logo can be leveraged to create professional-looking advertising, while a poorly-designed logo cannot. A "brandable" logo is one that you can use when designing other materials to brand your company. Brandable logos are scalable, memorable, and meaningful.
Your Logo is essential to your Corporate Identity. View 3 more reasons your Logo is important.
Your logo is a snapshot of your company. People are overwhelmed by the amount of increasing competition and visually-stimulating media, and tend to lean towards convenience and instant gratification. Sure, a few people may read all of your ad, a few more may read some of it, but everyone will see it—even if only for a second. With overwhelming amounts of choices faced by time-crunched consumers people tend to form quick visual associations. Your logo can accomplish this by connecting and instantly conveying your brand message and emotional appeal. In small advertisements you may only have enough space for your logo and your contact information. If your logo projects the right company image, it may be the sole reason someone decides to try your company. Conversely, if it looks unprofessional or unclear about what you do, it alone may be the sole reason they choose the competition in the ad next to yours.
Your logo helps solidify awareness and familiarity. As your brand's most basic graphic element, your logo ties together all of your other sales materials. In fact, your logo may be the only visual element that your sales materials and advertising have in common. The right logo helps solidify customer loyalty while differentiating you from the competition.
Your image defines you. Your logo provides you a unique opportunity to look like a more established business than you already are. With a professional logo, you can look like a multi-million dollar conglomerate even if you're just a freelancer. People will associate the positive attributes of big companies such as security and financial stability with your company.
Building a solid corporate identity is pivotal to success in business today. Lay the right foundation with a professional and brandable logo.

Business Card Design
Business cards are an important marketing tool, and an effective way to make a big impact and set yourself apart in a crowded market. Not bad considering that your business card is not only one of your smallest advertisements but its also one of your most personal, and yet most-affordable advertisements.
What should be on your business card? Your business cards should be professionally designed consistent with the rest of your corporate identity and branding, and include your logo, contact information, and a brief idea about what services or products your company provides. It is a good idea to include a slogan if you have one to help further solidify your brand in your prospect's mind. Your business cards should be readable while standing out from the rest of the pack. Your business cards should be printed full color on high-quality 14pt C2S (thick) card stock. Click here for Business Card design and printing information and prices.
We recommend you add your website address. If you don't already have a website domain "yourcompany.com", we can set that up for you with a custom one-page website design to hold you over for the time being. This way we can add to your website later as your needs increase, but you won't have to redesign or reprint your business cards, and you'll have some type of web presence to list your contact info on. Here's an example. In addition, the sooner you lock in your domain name so it isn't taken by someone else the better.
